Core Values

Spirit-led: We are centered in God's unconditional love. Spirit leads our thoughts and actions.

Integrity: We act from a place of wholeness and are ethical in our words and in all actions.

Acceptance: We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. We value the diversity of all.

Transformation: We teach universal spiritual principles that enhance our daily lives.

Abundance: We draw from God's unlimited supply of good and share our rich resources with the world.

Gratitude: We live with grateful hearts, giving thanks for all that God provides.

A vision statement is called a picture of our Church in the future, but it's so much more than that. Our vision statement is our inspiration, the framework for all our strategic planning.

VISION: We thrive as a loving, healing and spiritual community, welcoming all ages and transcending all conditions; ever growing in our oneness with God.

A mission statement defines what our Church is, why it exists, and its reason for being. Our mission statement should define who we are trying to reach, and identify our services.

MISSION: Unity Community Church, centered in God, is a place of wholeness. We celebrate the diversity of life, teach universal spiritual principles and live in grateful appreciation of God's abundant supply.

"Come Grow With Us!"

History

Unity Community Church (UCC) began in 1992 with a small congregation and two outstanding ministers, Revs. Elizabeth Ferguson Weeks and Jonathan Weeks. Our current minister, Reverend Irene Whitmore, succeeded Rev. Elizabeth Ferguson on her transition, in 2003.

The church has moved through a series of sites, including two schools, a movie theater, and various other interesting but temporary venues. In Y2000 we found our current location at 2682 Union Avenue, San Jose, where Sunday service numbers 60 or more adults, and Sunday school numbers 5 to 10 children. A larger number belong to our mailing list.
