Welcome our Transitional Minister-
Reverend Denese Schellink
Unity Community Church of San Jose, at Curtner and Union Avenues, is pleased to announce the selection of Reverend Denese Schellink as our transitional minister. Reverend Denese will serve as the minister of this church between the retirement of Reverend Irene Whitmore and the selection of a permanent minister.
Reverend Schellink has a passion and commitment to inspire individuals to a better realization of their greatest potential. She has come highly recommended as an innovative spiritual leader in the Unity movement. Recently, Denese served as a founder and co-minister of Unity Center of Davis. She is a gifted speaker, coach, and teacher who has served many Unity Ministries in California in over the last twelve years. Most recently she has served as Transitional Minister to a congregation in Roseville, helping them revise and rewrite their Mission and Values statement and secure a permanent minister.
Reverend Schellink and her husband, Larry, have two adult sons. Her mission in her ministries and her life is to be an expression of love, peace, and inspiration by partnering with others as one spirit to awaken and express their divinely-given gifts.
As transitional minister, her goal for the next six months is to assist us in raising our awareness of what we desire as the true nature of our congregation and guiding us through the process of securing the services of a permanent minister who is well-suited for ministering to our spiritual family. She brings joy, inspiration, and a positive outlook for our church.
We invite you to join the congregation in welcoming Reverend Schellink on January 29, 2012. A special “welcome” potluck will be held in the fellowship hall following services at 11:45. Please bring a dish to share.
